The Staffing Process

As a service to the Team Leaders the Best Practices Group has put together a set of tools that should be useful when looking to hire additional staff. Some of these are internal forms that one group or another is using already and others are external documents taken from research performed over the past few months. You can choose to use whatever you like, or you may choose to not use any. If your team is using different forms or if you find any other relevant information that you think would be useful additions in any of the categories listed, send that info to me (Larry Golden) and I will get it included.

The toolbox is divided into several categories that lead you through the entire staffing process. Clicking on links below take you to the related documents. From there you can copy and paste what you need to use.

Using Outside Help

Intern Employment – CleanAir has been utilizing college (and in some cases high school) interns for summer employment. This practice is a good recruiting tool for future employment as several of our interns have either returned for future internship or full time employment. Internship is a universal best practice, virtually all the best companies have some sort of intern program and CleanAir continues to improve upon its own. The steps involved are the same as Standard Employment but the current process of intern recruiting is different.

Special Case Employment – Sometimes the need to hire a consultant or contractor may arise, even possibly outsourcing tasks. Although not employees directly, these individuals can reflect on the Company as a whole and selecting the right ones becomes as important as hiring a standard employee. Some tips on Staff Augmentation may be helpful.
