PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Safety Ð zero safety incidents! Zero close calls! Read ÒSafety ConcernsÓ below!
Plant is a OSHA Star site. At the kickoff meeting ask for feedback on our safety for our VVP application.
|
Value Creation - The 2 main value opps that we have identified are both greater than 10X: 1) minimize our data uncertainty since a positive 1% error will cost them $500,000 per year in NOX credits and 2) They will use our data as the baseline for a new plant; a negative error will result in an undersized plant.
Thus our data uncertainty analysis must be done using our 3 standard deviations spreadsheet.
|
Long Term Partnership Ð We are trying to qualify for ÒPreferred VendorÓ status. Listen to your iPod preferred vendor manual and our sale leader plan for this partnership.
The parent corporation has 5 similar plants at which we donÕt do any work and 20 other plants that could need our services. Find out how we can get sponsored in to some of these.
|
Customer Corporate Environmental Policy & Strategic Ð Their 2004 annual environmental report is attached. They are one of only 2 USA utilities on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (Not easy to achieve). They will be using our data to try to stay on it. Try to see if we can interface with them on some other relates work.
They are a member of the ÒWorld Business Council for Sustainable DevelopmentÓ (WBCSD). This is membership by invitation only. Ask if we can be of assistance with some of their SD objectives.
|
Plant ManagerÕs Main Focus Ð We think it is maximizing throughput. Try to confirm.
|
Plants Profit Constraints Ð We think it is permit limit on steam production and unscheduled downtime. Try to confirm. |
Project Objectives Ð Quantify NOX emissions while varying load from 200 Ð 500 MW in 50 MW increments. |
Sales Objectives Ð They have a second unit that must be tested this year. Try to get permission to take photos of the test locations. |
Benefit Communication Ð ¥ Ask for feedback on our list of benefits attached. Try to get some guesses on how much each impacts their bottom-line. ¥ Try to interest them in our WebX seminar series. The next one is on stack test observation & audit on April 2, 2005 from 9AM to 11AM. They can see www.cleanair.com for more details. |

PROJECT SUMMARY
The project summary is a document created by the Project Manager. Important items to include are:
¥Report due date, number of copies of report and whether or not a draft report is required
¥CleanAir Project numbers of previous testing at the same plant
¥day-by-day synopsis of testing; indicating any changes to report text and/or any problems encountered
¥for all projects, include (time) table of testing to show what testing happened concurrently - especially, when schedules changed and no longer are correct, as stated, in the project plan
¥units results should be reported in
¥permit limits, if available or applicable
¥table of analyses being performed; who is performing it and when results can be expected
¥indicate that the report text has been written and that it can be found in the appropriate Project File on the file server in a folder called pre-report. This pre-report can be deleted when the report writer is finished with the final report. Reports should not be kept on personal hard drives or drop folders at this point, they should be accessed through the file server.
¥draft and/or final report deadlines
