Technological Environmental Improvement and Innovation
about six pounds of potassium permanganate came back from Denver. The stuff was old and we didn't want to trust it as a reagent for measuring microgram quantities of metals. Therefore, it was disposed of using Chemical Analytics, Inc. who a deal with a farmer in Michigan that has a low amount of potassium in his soil. The potassium permanganate is rendered neutral in solution and mixed with ammonia as a fertilizer for the farmer. (The manganese is also a soil additive).- Example of innovative - Re-use of the materials:
CAE has also switched to a different type of Orsat Chemicals, which is now manufacturing by the CAE Laboratory Services Team. There is no chromium in the solutions and once spent, they are innocuous and can be dumped down the drain. Thus, we have eliminated one source of the listed wastes.- Example of innovative - Toxic Elimination:

:Clean Air Engineering supports the concept of sustainable development and strives to do business with companies that are environmentally responsible. We will continually identify ways to reduce our negative impact on the global environment. We will employ both innovation and continuous improvement approaches for Pollution Prevention and Pollution Control with a target of zero for each pollutant. We will quantify and publish our progress annually.
