This letter is our offer for employment with Clean Air Engineering (CleanAir) as a full-time engineering intern for the summer of 200X. We can utilize your talents for as many weeks during the summer as you can provide. So, a start shortly after finals and continuing until just before your return to classes is possible.

CleanAir has run a successful internship program for several years. The chosen students work with our engineers, chemists and instrument technicians on various projects in a team environment. This gives real-world experience to the engineering student and an introduction to CleanAir for future consideration as a full-time employee.

We have had several interns return to CleanAir both as repeat interns and as full-time employees after graduation. Others have gone on to different careers in a variety of other organizations but have mostly indicated to us that their summer at CleanAir was invaluable in helping them succeed. As our intern experience has matured so too has our selection process. We are now better at placing individuals into positions within CleanAir that match their personalities and long-term goals.

With that in mind _______, (this next part is tailored to the individual, this is just an example) we see you working directly with the President and founder of CleanAir, Bill Walker. Bill has been a champion of the intern program since the beginning and has mentored more interns over the years than any other Team Leader. We feel this way because you possess a wide range of interests and have a history of high achievement in most endeavors. Your internship will introduce you to many facets of working in and running an engineering business and at the same time we will look for a dedicated project or two for you to dig into and succeed with over the summer.

This position of engineering intern may involve some travel. We offer compensation for your internship at a salary of _______ per hour. We do not offer any housing or subsistence when working in our regional offices.
